Shenzhen embodied-intelligence company Kinetix AI has raised over RMB 500 million in an angel+ series, led by Vertex Ventures (Temasek Holdings, Singapore) with participation from Fangguang Capital and Wanshi Capital; China Renaissance acted as sole financial adviser. Founded in September 2025, the company is less than a year old measured from the start of R&D, and this is its third round after an October 2025 angel round and a December 2025 pre-Series A. The funds will accelerate "data–model–body" iteration and commercialisation. Positioned as a full-stack embodied foundation-model company with nearly 200 staff, it has released a native embodied foundation model, a multimodal body-free data-collection hardware and software solution, an AI infrastructure platform for embodied intelligence, the ultra-anthropomorphic general-purpose KAIBot humanoid and the high-DoF KAI Hand. Li Wei, executive partner at Vertex Ventures, argues that embodied intelligence is one of the few fields that could redefine the human–machine relationship, but that its path is not yet settled: "when data, models and bodies advance separately, it is hard to tell which layer is failing." The fund therefore backs teams able to define a full-stack standard.

Market dataXiaguang Think Tank, "China's dexterous-hand industry and export trends" · 16/09
The report identifies three phases. 2016–2022: companies such as Inspire Robots were founded, industrial-grade dexterous hands matured, and applications were limited to STEM education and a few industrial scenarios. 2023–2024: the embodied-intelligence concept took off, Linkerbot was founded and launched a 42-DoF product capturing more than 80% of the high-DoF market, while Inspire Robots delivered nearly 2,000 units in the year at about RMB 50,000 each. 2025: a price inflection point, with unit cost falling below RMB 10,000 and six-DoF models at RMB 6,000–8,000, on 19,200 units sold. On market size, China's dexterous-hand market grew from RMB 12.5 billion in 2024 to RMB 50.1 billion in 2025 (+300%) and is expected to reach RMB 95 billion in 2026; volumes reach 70,200 units in 2026, 200,000 in 2028 and more than 430,000 in 2030, an 87% CAGR over 2025–2030. The global market reached $4.8 billion in 2025, up 127%. Technologically, tactile sensors are moving from option to standard, with attach rates expected to exceed 60% in 2026. On policy, China's 14th Five-Year Plan for robotics already listed humanoids as a priority, with embodied intelligence classified as a strategic emerging industry and dedicated support schemes in Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen.
Use-case structureChina Electronics News (MIR Databank white paper / GGII data) · 15/09
According to the "2026 China dexterous-hand industry development white paper" published by MIR Databank in September 2026, STEM education and data collection together accounted for 74.4% of applications in 2025, entertainment 8.3% and industry only 3.5%. Per GGII, Inspire Robots delivered more than 10,000 dexterous hands in 2025, ranking first among Chinese shippers that year. Xu Chunshan, founder and chairman of Dexrobot, says the sector suffers from a "parameters over capability" bias: evaluations still focus on degrees of freedom, weight and payload, whereas buyers increasingly weigh stability in real operating conditions, scenario fit and full-stack delivery capability. Three demand drivers support sales: integration with humanoid bodies, research and data collection, and early industrial adoption (automotive, 3C electronics, precision assembly, power inspection). Fang Hainan, CMO of Inspire Robots, argues that 10,000-unit-scale shipment validates both the engineering capability and the supply-chain maturity of Chinese dexterous hands.
Supply-chain profitabilityCompilation of public reports (Xueqiu / China.com) · 15/09
The latest half-year reporting cycle shows the dexterous-hand segment turning a profit while embodied intelligence as a whole is not yet profitable: Weihong Electronic shipped more than 50,000 dexterous-hand joint motors and modules, with products entering leading robot supply chains at home and abroad; Q2 revenue reached RMB 169 million (+19.06%) with net profit of RMB 23.9526 million (+48.48%). Leadshine sold more than 4,000 dexterous hands in January–August 2026, doubling year on year; H1 revenue reached RMB 1.247 billion (+39.92%) with net profit of RMB 194 million (+62.79%). Fulai New Material delivered 1,000 tactile sensors to Linkerbot in December 2025, signed a 100,000-unit purchase agreement in February 2026, and received a plan for 200,000 units from CasiaHand Robotics in August. On value, Morgan Stanley estimates the dexterous hand accounts for about 17.3% of Tesla Optimus's bill of materials (roughly $8,650–10,380) and China Post Securities puts it at about 18% of Unitree's G1; more than half of a hand's cost is the drive module, of which coreless motors account for roughly 41%. Sinolink Securities believes the dexterous hand's share of value could exceed 30%. Ding Han, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, says breaking through dexterous-hand technology is the key to unlocking the potential of humanoids.

During the 2026 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), China's first sector-level platform dedicated to the cross-border circulation of embodied-intelligence data was officially launched. It is built by Jingshi Kechuang, a state-owned enterprise of the Shijingshan district, together with China Telecom Beijing, and is the first landmark outcome of the Shijingshan linked development zone of the Beijing pilot free-trade zone under the coordinated reform of the full AI data cross-border chain. The platform integrates four infrastructures — cross-border data centre, security centre, dedicated line and cloud — and three core platforms: a trusted cross-border data space, an embodied compute-model-test platform, and the cross-border circulation platform. It provides four main services: international data-element trading, cross-border compliance assessment, cross-border data development and cross-border supervision. The underlying infrastructure, data-flow infrastructure, unified portal and eight business subsystems are complete, forming a full loop from data product listing through order submission, compliance assessment, contracting, payment and settlement, encrypted transmission and cross-border delivery to acceptance and archiving. Shijingshan has built China's largest embodied-intelligence training cluster and completed, ahead of CIFTIS, its transition from conventional data collection to real-scenario training.

On 11 September, the Beijing International Big Data Exchange (BIDX) announced the creation, with Dongfang Hujing (Beijing) Intelligent Technology and Beijing Gangjing Industrial Technology, of the first joint laboratory for embodied-data asset innovation, offering the sector a complete chain spanning data production, quality evaluation, property-rights registration and trading. The same day, the national data property-rights registration service system entered trial operation, with BIDX and several other data exchanges among the first included in the national register of registration bodies: "one registration, valid nationwide" moves from design to implementation. According to CAICT, by end-June 2026 more than 70 embodied-intelligence training grounds were in operation in China, with 46 more under construction or planned. The initiators note that embodied data is tied to devices, tasks and physical scenarios, with long ownership chains and complex boundaries, and that the sector had long suffered from a situation where "ownership is unclear, so buyers dare not use and sellers dare not sell". The laboratory aims to translate the national registration regime into workable industry processes: how data is evaluated, how ownership is registered, how assets are traded.

On 15 September, Shangpin Home Collection and Tangyuan Technology released WorldSimReady-Home, a simulation dataset for home-service embodied intelligence, available open source on the WorldSimReady-Home platform, Hugging Face and ModelScope for robot-body teams, embodied model and algorithm companies, research institutes and developers. The first release contains 100,000 m² of high-fidelity home scenes, 10,000 interactive assets and 1,000 standardised robot simulation task examples; using the initial scenes as "seeds", variations in layout, furnishing, materials and task conditions can generate tens of thousands of differentiated home scenarios. On quality, scene geometry reaches millimetre accuracy, semantic and material accuracy exceeds 99%, and key physical properties exceed 95%; each asset carries four layers of information (accurate geometry, complete semantics, credible physics, usable interaction). Technically, the environment is decoupled from the robot body and standard URDF-type models are supported, so humanoids, quadrupeds and wheeled robots can reuse the same scenes and tasks. Partner Tangyuan Technology is a 4D simulation data infrastructure provider for physical AI.
Tactile collectionFulai New Material (2026 symposium on embodied perception fusion and multimodal models) · 15/09
Speaking at the 2026 symposium on embodied perception fusion and multimodal foundation models, Liao Yongxing, AI algorithm director at Fulai New Material, stressed the key role of touch in dexterous manipulation — detecting contact, adjusting force and sensing slip — where vision cannot substitute precisely: a one-millimetre trajectory deviation changes the tactile feedback markedly. He divides embodied data collection into three categories — simulation data, real-robot data and human-centred body-free data — highlighting the volume and cost advantage of the latter, provided it is combined with the other two. Addressing the difficulty of hand motion capture in capturing contact geometry, the company offers a glove line centred on tactile collection, combining hand posture, wrist spatial information, first-person vision and task labels, with an emphasis on temporal alignment of multimodal data. His conclusion: mature embodied intelligence requires rich data spanning hand motion, vision and contact signals, and collection gloves will play an important role in that chain.

Body-free trainingDataNorth AI · 14/09
Reward AI published OM-1 on 14 September, a general-purpose robot manipulation policy whose training data includes no teleoperation and no robot experience of any kind — only recordings of people wearing a sensor glove (Omnibody Hand), a seven-degree-of-freedom device rather than a copy of every finger joint. The wearer performs the task at normal speed; the glove records camera images, contact pressure, the distance between fingers just before contact and the hand's path. Beneath the policy sits a separate control layer, trained via reinforcement learning in simulation, that converts intended motions into joint commands for whatever machine it runs on, on its own clock so the robot does not stutter when the policy takes longer to think. The company says the same setup covers industrial arms, legged humanoids and wheeled mobile manipulators, with a new task learnt from under 30 minutes of human demonstration. Note, however, that the only experiment with published numbers tests the glove rather than the model: at the fastest speed of 67 cm/s, the electromagnetic tracker overshot by an average of 9.5 mm versus 24.9 mm for the visual-inertial tracker, a roughly 60% reduction. Weights, code, paper and task success rates have not been released.

According to people in the supply chain, Tesla's team landed in Ningbo on 16 September and opened a new round of production audits for its robotics business on 17 September, visiting suppliers in Shanghai, Hangzhou, Ningbo and Xiamen. The goal is to verify the exclusivity and consistency of Optimus mass production, including helping suppliers tune equipment and transferring manufacturing capability from US plants. The audits are expected to lead directly to Optimus mass production, with orders already issued to suppliers; separate reports cite an order of about 5,000 units, the first thousand-unit-scale order after several hundred trial units. On cadence, Tesla has asked suppliers to raise capacity to 1,000 units per week in September 2026 and 2,000–2,500 units per week by year-end, implying capacity to supply components for roughly 100,000 units a year by the end of 2026; the plan is to build about 50,000 Optimus units in 2026 for deployment across Tesla gigafactories. In the market, Tesla-chain names were active in Shanghai on 17 September, with Joyson Electronics closing limit-up and Tuopu Group and Sanhua up 4.36% and 2.70%; Leaderdrive's harmonic reducers have passed Tesla qualification and are being supplied, with orders booked into 2027.

Beyond the first batch, new orders are expected in Q3 2026 and subsequent rounds "will not be smaller". On capacity, the company's 300,000 harmonic reducer sets in China equate to 400 robots per week and capacity is already tight, with domestic capacity to be expanded in September–October. The Thai site will come online progressively in Q3 2026: the first phase of 1.2 million sets is close to production and will ramp to full output in H2 2026, equivalent to more than 1,000 units per week. For 2027, customer guidance is described as "very optimistic" and new capacity is being planned. The note concludes that with order visibility improving, the speed of capacity expansion has become the key indicator to watch.

Addressing why order transmission stalls at precision machining, the article identifies suppliers already tied to manufacturers' production ramps: ENCOS supplies both Tiangong and Unitree; every joint of the Tiangong Ultra uses its integrated joint modules, each combining in one cylinder a frameless torque motor, precision harmonic reducer, dual absolute encoders at motor and output ends, a DC drive, a temperature sensor and a torque sensor. For dexterous hands, the company has signed an agreement to supply 100,000 joint modules while building million-unit-scale capacity for phased release in 2026–2027. Lianhe Imaging, Unitree's vision sensor supplier, closed a funding round of several hundred million yuan in early September, with related revenue already around RMB 2 billion. Shuanglin Group's ball-screw products are described in its 2026 half-year report as "accelerating industrialisation of humanoid ball screws and joint modules" across several ramp-up makers; Leaderdrive is advancing a project for 500,000 precision harmonic reducers per year. The article also flags a structural risk: China's humanoid market is worth only about RMB 3.4 billion in 2026, while some component makers carry stock-market valuations above RMB 20 billion.

Data show that global humanoid shipments exceeded 22,000 units in H1 2026, up nearly 300% year on year; core supply-chain revenue rose 13.79%, with net profit for the machinery equipment sector up 21%. Everwin Precision, Kinco and Leaderdrive each reported RMB 240–288 million of robotics-related revenue, with some businesses growing more than 500%; new plants from Tuopu Group and Everwin Precision are in production, and ball screws and reducers have entered a capacity race. Research notes argue the sector is moving from small-batch validation into a "1-to-10" scaling phase, with the share of real operating scenarios such as smart manufacturing, warehousing and logistics rising, and services and industry set to become the main demand drivers. Separately, Weiguang Electronic said on its investor platform that its frameless torque motors and joint modules for embodied robotics are already being sold, though the business remains at an early stage with a small revenue share. Jinyang Precision said it can produce precision structural parts for humanoids, flexsplines and circular splines for harmonic reducers, and elastomers for six-axis force sensors, and has invested in Guohua Intelligent (harmonic reducers, planetary roller screws, rotary and linear joints) and Yingzhi Technology (frameless torque motors and controllers).

On 14 September, the action plan on promoting smart-home consumption issued by eight ministries — Commerce, the National Development and Reform Commission, Industry and Information Technology, Civil Affairs, Finance and others — was published. Structured around matching supply and demand, building a diversified ecosystem, serving different groups precisely and clearing bottlenecks in services, the plan sets out seven measures: expanding quality supply, improving the standards system, supporting consumption, developing age-friendly smart homes, smoothing the recycling chain, improving community services and increasing fiscal and financial support. It explicitly calls for promoting home-service robots, health monitoring and smart eldercare products, encouraging age-friendly design (dimensions, ease of operation, dialect recognition, safety) and developing "silver product" certification; it also calls for improving the tiered intelligence rating system for smart-home products, accelerating a mandatory national standard for interoperability, building products and integrated solutions based on domestic open-source operating systems, and allowing localities to set subsidy categories and levels for smart-home purchases. The head of consumption promotion at the Ministry of Commerce said the plan targets both growth points and bottlenecks in this market.

According to Xinhua, embodied-intelligence training grounds are moving from isolated sites to a nationally coordinated network, and from building hardware to supplying high-quality data and operating scenarios continuously — in other words, from "having" to "being good". On policy, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and SASAC launched a 2026 action on real-scenario training for humanoids and embodied intelligence in June, requiring each provincial region to select at least 20 key scenario units and adapt working environments under the principle of "minimal intervention and reuse of what exists". On standards, the AI industry standard "Quality requirements and evaluation methods for embodied-intelligence datasets", drafted by CAICT with more than 40 organisations, takes effect on 1 November, marking a shift from volume-driven to quality-driven dataset building and filling a gap in this area. Jiang Lei, chief scientist at the national and local joint humanoid robotics innovation centre, says the "0 to 1" breakthrough is achieved but the "1 to 10" scaling problem remains blocked by standards, engineering management and pilot-scale issues, with scenario fit as the core difficulty. The report also notes that most training grounds rely mainly on selling data products, which alone cannot cover investment, putting their business models to the test.

A China.com Finance analysis argues that embodied intelligence is becoming a new frontier of global technology competition: overseas, start-ups such as Figure AI and Skild AI have won successive capital and compute backing running into billions of dollars, while Tesla has announced plans to invest $20 billion in robotics; in China the excitement is comparable, with about RMB 93.5 billion raised in H1 2026, roughly five times the prior year. The article argues China's fundamentals are solid — continued policy support, rapid technology iteration and companies closing operational loops in real scenarios — and recalls that the National Development and Reform Commission has proposed building a real-robot data collection system to tackle the data shortage, while the joint MIIT–SASAC action encourages innovation consortia and targets more than 100 high-value scenarios and 10,000-unit-scale routine deployment by the end of 2026. It also cites academicians: Zheng Nanning says the field cannot advance without high-quality multimodal data and high-fidelity simulation environments, while Zhang Jianwei argues its data needs far exceed those of autonomous driving and large language models. The analysis concludes that embodied intelligence combines large software models with advanced hardware, that long investment cycles are intrinsic to deep tech, and that heavy early-stage funding cannot be equated with a bubble.

On 16 September Huawei published "Intelligent World 2035: from vision to action", setting out ten key propositions and addressing the challenges of the agentic AI era; it states explicitly that moving into the physical world is the necessary path to AGI, to be pursued alongside language intelligence, embodied intelligence and scientific intelligence, and forecasts that global annual token consumption will grow 100,000-fold by 2035, with agent traffic exceeding 90%. In the market, China's robotics sector staged a V-shaped intraday rebound on 17 September: the underlying index of robotics ETF 560770 rose 0.68% on higher volume, led by Tuopu Group, Topstar, Sanhua and Shuanghuan, with the fund recording four net-inflow days out of five as of 16 September. Analysts attribute the strength to three converging drivers: confirmation of the industry trend, validation of the mass-production inflection point, and continued capital inflows. Tesla's Optimus production is advancing and order visibility for key component suppliers is improving; on shipments, global humanoid volumes reached about 19,100 units in H1 2026, nearly three times year on year, with Chinese manufacturers accounting for more than 97% — their dominance in humanoid mass production is now established.

The report views China's robotics industrialisation through the CIFTIS lens: at a "robot school" in Beijing, nearly 270 robots run at full capacity on chores, caregiving drills and production tasks, generating nearly 20 million high-quality data entries a year; on the fair's opening day of 9 September, China formally recognised a new occupation, "embodied-intelligence robot application technician", comprising two specialities: robot data collector and robot trainer. The tools are changing too: collectors once operated machines from fixed consoles but can now enter real work scenarios with new capture rigs that record human hands at work; VR maker NOLO showed EgoCapture, a head-mounted rig recording 360° real human operations, with clients able to buy the service instead of the full gear. TaShan showed tactile sensors and CasiaHand Robotics a dexterous hand with a built-in "brain" model. On the data market, the fair saw the launch of China's first industry-level platform for international embodied-intelligence data services, built by the Beijing Shijingshan Science and Technology Innovation Group with China Telecom Beijing; Shijingshan has registered China's first high-quality 3D dataset for foundation-model training, opened four data service stations and listed more than 200 data products, while Beijing aims for 100 high-quality industrial datasets by 2028. On overseas deployment, Beijing embodied-AI start-up Anyverse Dynamics signed a RMB 500 million (about $74.66 million) deal with green-tech group Envision, and the first batch of its K15 semi-humanoids arrived this month at Envision's battery gigafactory in France for autonomous loading and unloading.
